Annual Festival of Trees Week Starts Monday at the Rialto

In addition to the 60 trees and wreaths on display, the fest features special events such as a Teddy Bear Tea, a wine tasting and the Joliet hospice's Lights of Love.

The Rialto Square Theatre's weeklong Festival of Trees kicks off Monday and continues through Dec. 1.

In addition to viewing the 60 extravagantly decorated holiday trees and wreaths, all of which are up for bid and will be delivered after the festival, the event features a variety of other entertainment options.

General admission tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors age 60 and older and children age 12 to 3, and free for children 2 and younger. Click here for specific general admission dates and times.

  • Opening Night Celebration, 5:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 25, $40. First view of the 60 trees and wreaths; hors d’oeuvres from the area restaurants and caterers will be served. Business/Cocktail attire. Click here to see what appetizers will be served.
  • Holiday Lunch Break, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 26, $12 in advance, $15 day of the event. Price includes admission, boxed lunch and a soft drink.
  • Festival of the Vines Wine Tasting, 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 26, $30 in advance, $35 day of the event. Wine tasting stations will be manned by a sommelier from the Joliet Junior College Hospitality Management Program. Unlimited wine, light appetizers and a cash bar featured.
  • Joliet Area Community Hospice Lights of Lights, 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 27. Complimentary tickets with the purchase of a memorial ornament from the hospice. The event features the annual Lights of Love tree-lighting ceremony.
  • Teddy Bear Tea, 9:30 a.m. and noon, Nov. 29, $22.50 for adults, $17.50 for ages 12 and younger. Holiday brunch with a special visit from Santa Claus and keepsake teddy bear for children. Limited seating.
  • Jim Brickman -- The Magic of Christmas, 8 p.m. Nov. 30. Tickets are $100 (includes meet and greet), $55, $45, $40 and $35.
