Road Rage/Domestic Clash Triggers Car Chase, Rollover Crash: Police

No one has been arrested in the Joliet case, in which a woman called a man a "home wrecker" and then began pursuing him in her car, Cmdr. Rich Demick said.

Joliet police say an enraged woman instigated a car chase Monday that ended with the pursued man rolling his vehicle into a ditch as she drove off into the night. The incident began at about 8:50 p.m. near Cass and Collins streets, when the woman spotted the victim in his car and pulled up alongside him so she could call him a "home wrecker," Cmdr. Rich Demick said. That triggered a chase in which the woman kept pulling alongside the man's car until she finally cut him off, forcing him to veer off the road, Demick said. The car overturned and rolled into a ditch near Walnut Avenue and Maple Road/Route 6, while the suspect fled the scene, he said. The man and his two passengers received minor injuries in the crash and were transported to …

Special Prosecutor Won't Prosecute Will County Board Member's Son

A special prosecutor brought in to try Will County Board member Steve Wilhelmi's son for battery dropped the case but is still going after two pals of the young man. The fathers of these two men are not on the county board.

When Will County Board member Steve Wilhelmi's son was first arrested for allegedly whipping a man with his belt, he only faced charges of misdemeanor battery and mob action. Then the mob action charge went away, and now he's charged with nothing. A special prosecutor called in to try Wilhelmi's 21-year-old son, Alex Wilhelmi of 1108 Taylor St., Joliet, dropped the case Thursday morning. But David Neal of the Special Prosecution Unit of the State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor's office is still going after the two men arrested along with Alex Wilhelmi on July 1. Daniel Duffy, 23, of 503 Wilcox St. faces a charge of battery and Manuel Borrego, 24, of 319 Hunter Ave. is up for both battery and drunken driving. Duffy and Borrego do not have…

Road Rage Riot Ends in Arrest of County Board Member's Son, 2 Others

Three Joliet men, including the son of Will County Board member Steve Wilhelmi, allegedly menaced the occupants of another car and whipped one young man with a belt.

A carload of Joliet men—including the son of Will County Board member Steve Wilhelmi—menaced the occupants of another vehicle, chasing them around the west side and ultimately whipping one with a belt before a bystander blocked them in and the cops showed up, police said. The three men—23-year-old Manuel Borrego of 319 Hunter Ave., Daniel Duffy, 22, of 479 Mason Ave., and 21-year-old Alex Wilhelmi of 1108 Taylor St.—were captured near the corner of Kenilworth and Dellmar avenues about 10:30 p.m. Sunday and taken to the Will County jail. Lemont Man Hit With Murder Rap For Alleged Road Rage Punch

A Lemont man facing an aggravated battery case in connection with a June 2011 road rage incident saw the charges upped to murder after his alleged victim died.

Christopher Yeoman was looking at nothing more than a misdemeanor battery case when the Romeoville police first arrested him for allegedly punching a man at a stop light in June 2011. But as the health of Yeoman's alleged victim deteriorated, the charges were boosted to felony aggravated battery of a senior citizen. Then the man Yeoman allegedly punched, 64-year-old Frank Egas of Romeoville, died in a Lake County nursing home in September, and Yeoman is now up on a second-degree murder case. Yeoman, 40, of Lemont was arraigned on the new charges Tuesday morning in Will County court. The Lake County Coroner determined that Egas succumbed to injuries he suffered in the June 2011 incident, said Assistant State's Attorney Chris Koch. Yeoman …
