Krista Zarbock, an employee of the Furry Babies, confirmed the 2-month-old chihuahua was back; Joliet police could not be reached for comment.
The tiny puppy snatched from a pet store in the Louis Joliet Mall Friday night has been returned safely, a store employee said Monday night. Krista Zarbock, who works for the Furry Babies store, was the first to sound the alarm about the theft of the 2-month-old blue chihuahua, contacting media outlets on Saturday and posting a note and photos on the Joliet Patch Facebook page. A subsequent story posted on Joliet Patch generated dozens of leads, Joliet Police Chief Mike Trafton said Monday. Although the details of the 1.5-pound female dog's return weren't available from police Monday night, Zarbock posted this note on Joliet Patch's Facebook site at about 10 p.m. Monday: "Our Chihuahua is safe!!! Joliet police said they believe the incident, which involved a 14-year-old male touching the young boy's penis and having the boy touch him, only occurred once.
A 14-year-old boy has been arrested for inappropriately touching a 4-year-old and persuading the young boy to touch him, Joliet police said. The incident took place at about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 29, and was reported to police on Dec. 30, after the victim told his mother about the sexual contact, Cmdr. Rich Demick said. The victim was interviewed through the Will County Child Advocacy Center and told a child psychologist that the teen had touched his penis and had instructed him to touch the suspect's penis, Demick said. It was a single episode that occurred at the victim's house, and police do not believe the child had been molested previously, he said. The 14-year-old was taken into custody on Jan. 3 and charged with aggravated criminal sexual …
Joliet police say the pair approached the man as he walked on Taylor Street, told him they had a gun and demanded his wallet.
A Joliet man walking in the Cathedral Area at about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday was robbed of his wallet by two teens, police said. The 49-year-old victim was in the area of Taylor and William streets when he was approached by the pair, who asked him where he lived, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said. When he declined to answer, one of the teens told him he had a gun and demanded that he hand over his wallet, which he did, Demick said. They then fled on foot, he said. No gun was actually displayed, and there was no information available on the contents of the wallet or how much the victim might have lost, Demick said. The suspects are described as being black, standing about 5-foot-7 and weighing about 140 pounds. DON'T MISS THE LATEST JOLIET NEWS…

The front doors of the Citgo store were pried open, but a security video shows the masked suspect leaving empty-handed, Joliet police said.
A man wearing a ski mask backed his truck up to the front door of a Joliet Citgo gas station, attached a cable to the door handle and stepped on the gas, successfully prying the store entrance open, Joliet Police Cmdr. Rich Demick said. All of the action was caught on a security tape at about 3 a.m. Sunday, as was the burglar's entrance into the building at 91 Airport Drive, Demick said. What's not clear is what spooked the suspect and caused him to depart before taking anything from the station. The video "shows the masked man looking inside the store," and then almost immediately leaving, Demick said. A security alarm alerted Joliet police, who arrived to find the doors pried open, he said. Joliet police have asked for a grand jury to investigate a missing person case opened the same day Linda Fellenbaum's family reported that she had disappeared.
Joliet police detectives have asked for a grand jury to investigate a missing person, a theft and the theft of a gun related to a case filed the same day local woman Linda Fellenbaum's disappearance was reported, according to court papers. Circumstances described in the Nov. 6 motion to appoint a grand jury and grand jury investigators—the theft and the theft of a firearm—match allegations made in the Fellenbaum case. Before the mother of three vanished on Oct. 21, her live-in boyfriend, 40-year-old Donald Wolak, reportedly went to the police and told officers she stole a "large sum of cash" and one of his handguns. Fellenbaum, 33, returned to Wolak's 3608 Crockett Court home five days later, on Oct. 21, police said. Wolak expected her to …
