The Joliet woman told police her car was pushed on the tracks in an accident, but witnesses said it appeared she may have gotten the vehicle stuck, reports said.
An allegedly intoxicated Joliet woman was arrested Sunday after her car was struck by a train in Mazon, a published report says. Suzanne McDonnell, 47, told Grundy County sheriff's deputies that her car was involved in a hit-and-run accident that pushed her vehicle onto tracks, where it was struck by a BNSF train at about 12:20 a.m., according to a story in the Morris Daily Herald. However, the train's engineer and another witness said that McDonnell's car appeared to have gotten stuck in gravel or the tracks. The woman and her three passengers, including a child, exited before the vehicle was hit by the train, the story said. Bolingbrook Oct. 27: A 36-year-old Bolingbrook man has been charged with driving under the influence after police said his car slammed through the side wall of a Bolingbrook home and stopped inside the garage. Michael D. Karwoske, 36, was arrested at 3:24 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, driving too fast for conditions and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, according to Bolingbrook police.
