The cell phone supposedly used to report the murders of two Joliet men has not been located, a source said.
An extensive search along Interstate 80 for an alleged killer's cell phone in the wake of last month's double murder on Hickory Street came up empty, a source said. The missing phone is the same one 18-year-old Bethany McKee supposedly used to call her father, Bill McKee of Shorewood, to let him know two young men were dead in the home of her friend Alisa Massaro, also 18. Bill McKee passed that information along to officers with the Shorewood Police Department, who in turn alerted the Joliet police, sources said. Joliet police officers then headed to Massaro's home on North Hickory Street and found the bodies of Terrance Rankins and Eric Glover, both 22. Telephones and computers changed hands in court Friday and Margarita Hernandez's trial next week on sex charges was canceled.
An FBI agent returned the cell phone of a woman charged with setting up a sex romp with a teenage boy, and the woman immediately surrendered the phone to a Joliet police detective during a brief court hearing Friday morning. Also Friday, computers seized from the woman's home on Joliet's far west side were turned over by the police detective. The computers were taken by lawyers defending her against charges she had sex with a 15-year-old from Chicago. The attorneys representing Margarita Hernandez, Steve Landis and Dan Locallo, said they took the computers for safekeeping and that they would be tested by experts to see if Hernandez used them to communicate with the teen. Judianne Pace, of Rankin County, Miss., was last seen on Aug. 31, reports say.
The cell phone of a Mississippi woman who's been missing since late August was traced to Joliet, a Jackson, Miss., television station is reporting. Judianne Pace, 34, is described as a white female with red hair and green eyes, standing 5-foot-2 and weighing about 250 pounds. I dont think it was so much as premeditated at the time the girls called Rankins and Glover over. I think they just wanted to use them for the free alcohol, I do believe it was stated that the girls asked them to bring alcohol with them!
