Hello Seer: No I was not. I hope that you are only commenting as a jest because even if one onlyRead More works, as I did, for the Summer Months it is something that, in my case, NEVER left my being. I have a GREAT DEPTH OF FEELING & RESPECT FOR THE CREWS OF ALL THE GREAT LAKES VESSELS. I would like to offer my respect for the Crew of the Fitzgerald again. If your familiar with Gordon Lightfoot's Song about the Edmund Fitzgerald then you know that Lake Superior NEVER GIVES UP THE DEAD as Gas Bubbles cannot form in the Blood to make a Body rise to the surface. Not long after I got off I did visit the Mariners Church in Detroit, MI. Every year at the opening of the Great Lakes Navigation Season there is a Service held there that offers a Blessing for the Great Lakes Fleet(s), and Crews. The Ship I sailed on was the SS (Steamship) August Zeising. It was ancient by today's standards when I was aboard as it was constructed in 1914, and was Powered by a Triple-Expansion Coal-Fired Steam Engine. Who knows for certain as you, or I could be driving around in a Car made from its Hull. Further, I fulfilled my Military Duties aboard DD937 The Davis, a Forest Sherman Class Destroyer. We nicknamed that Tincan "The Steamin' Demon," as we never spent very much time in Port while I was aboard. While the Ocean(s) can be ROUGH, however one should NEVER/EVER underestimate the Great Lakes as they can WHIP UP some Fierce Storms.

Karen, If you want to do a real story, go out to the Memorial stadium park district parking lot andRead More witness the illegal drinking and open alcohol during JCA games. (parents and students) The Joliet park district and Joliet PD turn a blind eye. All but one park board member are jca alums or parents. You cannot have a picnic at Inwood and have open alcohol but you can drink in the open in the parking lot during a HIGH SCHOOL game.

I do not live far from the stadium and do not want to hear the announcer like last time, until 11"15pm
