Mary Pontarelli was a next-door neighbor and close friend of Kathleen Savio up until Savio was found drowned in her dry bathtub in March 2004. Pontarelli said Savio lived in fear of Peterson and that she predicted he would kill her and make her death look like an accident. Pontarelli was also one of the first to find Savio's body. Pontarelli said it looked as if someone placed Savio's body in the tub.
