Joliet Public Library (Black Road Branch)

Until 1995, Joliet had just one public library, located in downtown Joliet. That year, a library outlet was opened in the Louis Joliet Mall to provide a sampling of library materials that could be borroed by residents on the far west side.
In November 2002, the 36,000-square-foot Black Road branch Library was opened and the mall outlet closed.
