Fans disappointed at not being able to see REO Speedwagon perform a full set at Taste of Joliet before being forced to flee a violent storm will get a second shot this summer.
The Joliet Park District has announced that they've signed the band to perform at the 2013 Taste and have even put tickets on sale, even though the annual outdoor festival is still six months away.
REO will perform at 9 p.m. June 28 -- a Friday night, just like this year -- at Joliet Memorial Stadium, 3000 W. Jefferson St. Tickets cost $35 for the front reserved section, $10 general admission, $5 for seniors and free for children under age 12. They can be purchased at www.tasteofjoliet.com.
Headlining performers for the other two days of the fest have not been announced.
For those who don't remember, this year's Taste started off with a bang when a line of storms with 85 to 90 mph winds moved in at about 10 p.m. REO had finished just a handful of songs before they were forced to leave the stage, and festival was closed early as attendees fled to their cars.
The next two days of the event, however, went off without a hitch.
