Joliet Youth Baseball Club Stiffed Landlord on Rent: Lawsuit

Victory Baseball of Joliet failed to pay the rent on a Crest Hill facility, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.

A Joliet youth baseball club failed to pay the rent on a Crest Hill facility and then pulled stakes and split, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.

Commercial property rental company Copper Court named Victory Baseball Club of Joliet., six men allegedly affiliated with Victory Baseball, and Fuel Sports Performance Training Inc. as defendants in the lawsuit.

One of the men named as a defendant, John P. Bylina, was the president of both Victory Baseball and Fuel Sports Performance Training, the lawsuit said.

In June 2011, Victory Baseball leased a property at 2355 Copper Court in Crest Hill, the lawsuit said.

The terms of the lease called for Victory Baseball to pay $3,000 for its first year at the property, $3,500 the second and $3,700 the third, the suit said, but the club "failed to make all rental payments required under the commercial lease."

By the time the civil complaint was filed last week, Victory Baseball had "vacated the premises," the suit said

Fuel Sports Performance Training leased another property on Copper Court in March 2010, the lawsuit said. As with Victory Baseball, the lawsuit accuses Fuel Sports Performance Training of failing to make the rent.
