Here's how you can help. Joliet Patch has partnered with the district to collect school supplies that will be distributed to students who need them.

Joliet Patch editor Dawn Aulet will be at Friday night's game. Bring an item to the Patch table (we will be on the 3rd base side at the back of the concourse) and in exchange we'll give you something back: Patch swag.

No. 2 pencils, wide-ruled notebook paper and wide-ruled, single-subject notebooks are the most needed items.

"The younger grades, they use a lot of glue sticks," Zalewski said.
