Parent Says Minooka Principal Put Student Records on iTunes: Lawsuit

Former District 202 administrator is accused of sharing student records following a reported bullying incident.

A lawsuit filed last month in Will County accuses Minooka Community High School Principal Darcie Kubinski of sharing student records online via iTunes.

The suit was filed against Kubinski and Minooka Community High School District 111 on behalf of parent Kelly Klepec, according to the Herald-News.

Klepec alleges that on Jan. 31, Kubinski posted a recording from a closed-session board of education meeting where her child's discipline records were being discussed following a 2012 bullying incident at the school, the newspaper reported.

Kubinski is accused of engaging in conduct intended to cause damage and emotional distress against Klepec, as well as abusing her position in an attempt to intimidate her.

The lawsuit also alleges that in October 2012, Kubinski caused a student's records to be shared with a third party who was not a teacher at either high school in the district. The records reportedly revealed the identities of students named in a bullying incident at the district's South campus.

District 111 Superintendent James Colyott denied any wrongdoing by Kubinski, according to the Herald News.

Kubinski was hired as principal in 2012. Prior to joining Minooka Community High School District, she spent nearly a decade working for Plainfield School District 202, where she held several roles, including school psychologist and associate principal of Plainfield Central High School.
