VA's New 'Mega-Clinic' Opens Next Week

The 60,000-square-foot facility will provide a wide variety of medical services for area vets, who are now having to travel to Hines Hospital near Maywood.

The new 60,000-square-foot VA outpatient clinic, which has taken over part of the former Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, is to open March 11.

Described as a "mega clinic," the two-story facility will offer medical services to area veterans, many of whom are driving to the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital near Maywood for care, according to a story in the Joliet Herald News.

The Joliet clinic will provide primary care, women’s health care, physical therapy, mental health services, speech therapy, retinal imaging and other services, the story said. Open houses for the new facility are planned for later this month and April.
