Portion of Schweitzer Closed for Road Reconstruction

Work to rebuild the road begins Monday and continues through Nov. 23; detour signs will be posted.

Reconstruction work will close Schweitzer Road between Centerpoint Way (Patterson Road) and Vetter Road for two months, beginning Monday.

CenterPoint Intermodal Center-North is rebuilding the roadway as part of its development. State grant money awarded to the city will fund a portion of the work, meaning there is no local cost to Joliet taxpayers, according to a news release issued by the city.

Work on the two nortern lanes should be completed by Nov. 23, the release said. The southern lane finished in spring 2013, the release said.
