Mayor: Housing Authority Board Must Resign

Joliet Mayor Tom Giarrante has asked that all seven members resign in the wake of a report that labeled the HAJ "troubled."

A federal review that ranked the Housing Authority of Joliet as "troubled" has prompted Mayor Tom Giarrante to ask that all seven board members tender their resignations, according to a published report.

“I don’t like what the results of the study were,” Giarrante told the Joliet Herald News. “I’m asking for everybody’s resignation.”

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Affairs issued their findings in October, and Giarrante told the paper he was particularly concerned about the allegations from two female employees lodged against former director Henry Morris and the vacancies in the Fairview housing complex, the story said.

While the agency is funded by HUD to provide subsidized housing for low-income Joliet residents, board members are appointed by the mayor.

Okay, Could you please name the current board members. I don't think this in confidential info. It would make for a much more interesting read.

You need to put the correct phone number. You have 8 numbers listed instead of 7.

Maybe some new manhole lids with rubber rings to stop all the flooding of peoples houses,AndRead More actually climb down in the manhole and see if it is leaking instead of paying all of these people in Joliet getting flooded out by YOUR SANITARY System. Some paint being scrapped off the City Hall Hand Rails that will cut ya up.
