Jefferson St. Bridge Closed Wednesday

IDOT has requested the closure in order to do survey and inspection work, city officials said.

The Jefferson Street Bridge over the Des Plaines River heading into downtown Joliet will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday so survey and inspection work can be done.

There will be no detour signs posted so drivers will need to find an alternate route on their own, according to a news release from the city of Joliet. The closure is being done by the Illinois Department of Transportation, which is overseeing the work.
