The disgraced former Oak Brook cop son of disgraced former Bolingbrook cop (and current murder defendant) Drew Peterson claims in a $10 million lawsuit his rights were violated when he was fired, according to a story in the Sun-Times.
Stephen Peterson, who was fired in , is suing in federal court. He is going after former Oak Brook Police Chief Thomas Sheahan, Fire and Police Board Chairman Frederick Cappetta and the Village of Oak Brook.
The three-man Oak Brook Fire and Police board voted as a bloc in 2011 to ax Stephen Peterson from the department he had worked at for more than six years. Sheahan had charged Stephen Peterson with obstructing investigators, possession of an unlawful weapon, and failing to keep an internal investigation confidential. The board cleared Stephen Peterson of the last two allegations but found him guilty of the first one.
Stephen Peterson is also waging a court battle to get back his job. He is being represented in that action by Fraternal Order of Police attorney Tamara Cummings.
According to the Sun-Times story, Stephen Peterson is claiming "violation of due process under the 14th Amendment, tortuous interference with advantageous business relations, breach of contract, defamation and slander, and intentional infliction of emotional distress."
Drew Peterson is set to go to trial in less than two weeks on charges he murdered his third wife, Kathleen Savio. Drew Peterson is also suspected of possibly killing his missing fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.
Stephen Peterson is the son of Drew Peterson's first wife, Carol Hamilton, who is neither missing nor slain.
But, in an effort to end this silly battle that is doomed, you can have the last word, as usual.
John Moreli. The Bully of the Patch Playground. HE'S EVERYWHERE! HE'S EVERYWHERE!
How is him testifying before a GJ about his FATHER not personal? Did he wear his uniform and drive the squad to court for the divorce from Teresa? Give it up. He used poor judgement. Sometimes life lessons are hard ones to learn.
Since you insist that his appearance in Joliet was related to his job as an Oak Brook cop, did his Chief also show up and testify about Drew? Of course he didn't because Oak Brook has NOTHING to do with the GJ. Maybe if Stephen gets a job at McDonalds, he can show up wearing that uniform next time. He may have more influence if he brings some fries for everyone.
And gee whiz, what happened to your prior insult re: "Bolingbrook trash"? I live closer to Homer Glen, FYI. So be sure that next time, when you make John Moreli Patch Comment # 115,987,885,206, you hate and condemn the people who live there, too. (Hey, maybe you could refer to it as "HOMO Glen"! THAT would be appropriate for someone with a single-digit IQ, like yours.) One last thing, and then you'll have to forgive me, as I have an actual LIFE that I need to be getting back to, unlike some people: Bullies suck. Everyone here is looking at YOU, J.M.
Stephen was not at work when he got a call to go to Joliet. He was issued a subpoena and knew in advance that he had to testify. You may not know this but Oak Brook is in DuPage County, not Will. Stephen hasn't gone to court in Joliet a million times for work. The only reason he had to go that day was because of HIS DAD. HIS DAD doesn't live in Oak Brook, the crime being investigated did NOT happen in Oak Brook, no other Oak Brook cops were called to testify. If his job was anything other than a cop, would he have taken a company car and showed up in that uniform as well. Doubtful.
You've proven that you have some problems with comprehension. Name one suburb that allows their officers to take the squad car home or use it for personal use. Stephen isn't a County or State cop. He was a cop for Oak Brook and they do not allow their officers to take the squads home or use them for personal use.
Apparently you don't know how they work if you think that they call you while you're at work and tell you that you must immediately leave what you're doing and drive 30 miles to testify before a GJ. Is that what you're sayind happened to Stephen and that's his excuse for wearing his uniform and driving his squad to Joliet?
You don't live in Oak Brook or Bolingbrook but you seem to be preoccupied with both. Get a life and go back to your neighborhood with the burned down house.
Just because you're friends with Drew and Stephen, doesn't make you an expert. Heck, look what happened to them. Go right ahead and follow their footstep. Let's see how much you know then. LOL! I've got a life so I'm out of here. What does your wife have to say about your obsession with being The Patch bully?
Leave John Moreli alone already! He knows alot more than you think. Betya didn't know that Steve Peterson was a K-9 cop for Oak Brook did you? That's why he had his car in Joliet. The dog was in the backseat waiting for him when he was done with his testimony. They enjoyed a snack at the dog park off of Royce Rd on his way back to Oak Brook.
You don't seem to grasp that Peterson violated a particular rule and was suspended for it. You are fighting a lost cause here. You don't like the rule, and you claim the rest of us don't know what we are talking about, so you continue to beat the issue down until you draw out people who are sick and tired of your useless blabber. The John Moreli law. Why do you ASSUME I know nothing about law enforcement or how different departments work? Only you do? Okay, buddy boy, if it makes you feel like John Wayne making that statement as if you know it all, knock yourself silly. Some of us don't have to assert ourselves to the point of blubbering out gibberish just to make a point. Some of us don't assume things about others here. But, as always, you win. You da man.
Drew gave up his right to a speedy trial 3 years ago tomorrow. http://www.wgnradio.com/news/top/wgnam-peterson-trial-delay-071409,0,3136685.story "Peterson was scheduled to stand trial Aug. 24 on charges that he murdered his ex-wife Kathleen Savio in 2004. But White canceled that trial date today, after asking Peterson whether he understood that he was giving up his right to a speedy trial. Peterson, wearing blue jail scrubs, stared down at his lap and replied "Yes, your honor."
BTW, Stephen Peterson took a police car from Oak Brook to Joliet to appear before a GJ investigating his father. End of story. What rule violation has been committed? That is the subject of this whole thread, isn't it, Moreli. Get a grip man. You're losing it.
