County Holding Health Insurance Enrollment Sessions

The Joliet events are open to anyone who has no insurance or is paying too much and would like to know about other options.

The Will County Health Department issued this news release:

Are you uninsured, or simply paying too much for health insurance?

Separate open enrollment events hosted by the Will County Health Department and the Will County Community Health Center will provide answers to lingering questions and help you enroll in a health plan that is just right for you, and your family. No appointments are necessary, and those enrolling in a health plan prior to February 15 will receive coverage beginning March 1.

Certified Health Department navigators will be available to assist with the enrollment process from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. January 29, at the agency's main office complex (501 Ella Avenue in Joliet). Information tables and the navigators will be located just inside the Family Health Services WIC entrance. Questions about the event? Call 815-727-5990, or email info@willcountyhealth.org.

The Community Health Center (1106 Neal Avenue in Joliet), will host an open enrollment event from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, February 8, in the lower level Conference Room. Call with questions (815-774-6090), or email to outreachCHC@willcountyhealth.org.

Those planning to attend either of the open enrollment events should bring the following information:

  • Proof of residency (driver's license or State ID), birth certificate or U.S. passport
  • Social Security card
  • Employer and income information
  • Policy numbers for any current health insurance plans covering members of your household.

Will County open enrollment events are made possible through grant funding provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
