Video Shows Accused Drunken Driver Smashed into Home

A driver failed to stop at a stop sign and plowed into a home while a family of four was asleep inside.

A seven minute video posted to YouTube shows the aftermath of an accused drunken driver who plowed through a Shorewood home while a family was sleeping inside last month.

No one was hurt but, as Youtube user Todd Sherman notes on the page where he posted the video, the family of four that included two small children was "very shaken up."

Michael G. Boege, 21, of the 500 block of Parkshore Drive, Shorewood, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, improper lane use and driving too fast for conditions on Oct. 12, according to police. Boege posted bond and was later released.

Sherman's video shows the family gathering possession and loading up their SUV while crews remove the black, 4-door Toyota.

The driver failed to stop at a stop sign and drove through a fence before smashing through the rear bedroom of the house. The car caused extensive damage to the home.

WJOL reports that the family is still dealing with the massive hole in the side of their house.
