A sex romp planned in an Internet chat room went horribly awry when one man pushed another man and robbed him of $160, said.
The 46-year-old victim of the alleged robbery called the cops about 10:30 p.m. Friday and told them there had been a robbery, police said.
When officers got to the man's Redfield Court home, police said, he told them he had orchestrated a rendezvous with a man he met in a chat room.
But when his guest arrived, the man reportedly told police, he was not the same guy depicted in the photos shown in the chat room.
The local man told his visitor that "he was not what he was looking for," police said. This reportedly upset the man, so the victim gave him $40 from a bedroom drawer for gas money.
The $40 did not appease the visitor, who pushed the Joliet man and grabbed another $160 out of the drawer, police said. He then reportedly departed in his white Cadillac.
The police were able to track down that white Cadillac on Route 59. They arrested the driver—23-year-old Idreses Cooper of 7728 S. Damen Ave. in Chicago—on a charge of robbery.
