Tricky—Prostitute Who Wanted to Get Paid Stole Hairspray, Bobby Pins, Panties & Leggings From Walmart: Cops

The day before a payment dispute with a john led to her arrest at a Joliet Motel 6, a prostitute got caught stealing from Walmart, police said.

A prostitute arrested during a dispute with a trick who stiffed her was picked up the day before for shoplifting from Walmart, police said.

Nakia L. Johnson, 21, of 1417 E. Washington St. was charged with stealing hairspray, bobby pins, panties and three pairs of leggings from the West Jefferson Street superstore on Sunday.

The following morning, Johnson was arrested on a charge of prostitution at the Motel 6 on Mall Loop Drive.

Joliet police officers sent to the motel reportedly found 48-year-old Robert Page of Bloomington blocking the door to a room.

Page claimed Johnson stole "all his money," police said, and Johnson countered that Page owed her $100 for a sex act she performed on him.

Page was charged with soliciting a prostitute.

The day before at the Walmart, Johnson and 27-year-old Michael Craig of 419 N. Bluff St. were spotted walking the aisles, plucking items from the shelves and placing them in Johnson's purse, police said.

Johnson and Craig then had a bite to eat at the Subway inside the Walmart before buying a duffel bag and placing the stolen merchandise inside it, police said. Security reportedly stopped the pair when they left the store without paying.

Craig also was charged with theft.
