Thousands of Pirated DVDs & Fake Nikes Seized From Joliet Store: Cops

A local man was charged with selling pirated DVDs and counterfeit Nikes.

The bootleg movie and fake Nike market took a significant hit in Joliet this weekend, police said.

Cops seized about 2,000 pirated DVDs as well as an unspecified number of counterfeit Nikes from a store at 260 Ruby St., police said.

The police reportedly obtained a search warrant for the business and hit it about 11 a.m. Friday. Officers found the contraband merchandise during the search of the store, said police, who gave the name of the business as "Cal's Place."

One man was arrested during the raid. Calvin Chism, 45, of 195 Carriage Lane in Joliet was charged with the unlawful use of recorded sounds or images and the violation of trademark rights.

Chism was booked into the Will County jail and remains in custody. He is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
