Teen Posts Naked Girl's Pic, Pulls BB-Gun on Girl's Mother: Police

The 16-year-old suspect was arrested on an obscenity charge for using Instagram to post the photo, Joliet police said.

A 16-year-old Joliet boy who posted a photo of his naked girlfriend on Instagram and pulled a BB-gun on the girl's mother when she confronted him about it was arrested Monday night, Joliet police said.

The teen reportedly obtained the photo from his 15-year-old girlfriend, who sent it to his cell phone, Cmdr. Al Roecher said. He uploaded it to Instagram, an online social networking service that allows photos and videos to be filtered and shared publicly.

When the girl's mother learned what happened, she went to the suspect's house in the 1100 block of Frederick at about 5:30 p.m. and confronted him, Roechner said. He responded by pulling out a weapon that ended up being a BB-gun, he said.

The woman notified police, and the teen was arrested at about 6:20 p.m. and charged with obscenity for posting the photo and disorderly conduct for pointing a BB-gun at the woman, he said.

The photo was recovered from the suspect's phone, he said.

The teen is being held in the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Joliet.
