Teen Sexually Touched 4-Year-Old: Cops

Joliet police said they believe the incident, which involved a 14-year-old male touching the young boy's penis and having the boy touch him, only occurred once.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested for inappropriately touching a 4-year-old and persuading the young boy to touch him, Joliet police said.

The incident took place at about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 29, and was reported to police on Dec. 30, after the victim told his mother about the sexual contact, Cmdr. Rich Demick said.

The victim was interviewed through the Will County Child Advocacy Center and told a child psychologist that the teen had touched his penis and had instructed him to touch the suspect's penis, Demick said. It was a single episode that occurred at the victim's house, and police do not believe the child had been molested previously, he said.

The 14-year-old was taken into custody on Jan. 3 and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, at the direction of the Will County State's Attorney's office. The charge was deemed "aggravated" because of the 10-year age difference, Demick said.

Demick declined to identify the relationship the suspect had with the victim.
