A woman driving while high on marijuana ran over a 4-year-old boy riding his bicycle in a Joliet alley, breaking both his legs and dislocating his hip, police said.

The woman, 21-year-old Mykala Robinson of 924 Wilcox St. was jailed on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence of drugs and failing to reduce speed in connection with the 6:30 p.m. Sunday incident.

Robinson was driving down an alley running along Oakland Avenue between Moran and Ross streets when the boy pedaled out of his driveway and she ran him over, police said.

The child was stuck beneath Robinson's Ford Taurus. Neighbors who heard the accident rushed out and lifted the vehicle with a jack to free the boy before paramedics arrived, police said.

The boy was taken to Advocated Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn. His injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Robinson smelled of burnt marijuana and when questioned confessed to smoking pot about an hour earlier, police said.

Robinson's bond was set at $30,000. She remains in custody at the Will County jail.
