Stiffed—Prostitute & Trick Arrested When He Doesn't Cough Up Cash: Cops
The prostitute stole thousands from her john when he refused to pay her $100 for the sex act she had performed, police said.
A Joliet prostitute and the Bloomington man who hired her were both arrested after a dispute over payment Friday morning, police said.
Nakia L. Johnson, 21, was charged with prostitution. Robert Page, 48, of 1107 Saddlebrook Drive was charged with soliciting a prostitute.
Officers were sent the to the Motel 6 on Mall Loop Drive about 10:30 a.m. to settle a financial dispute, police said. Page had accused Johnson of stealing "all his money," police said, and Johnson claimed Page stiffed her out of the $100 he owed for a sex act she performed on him.
When the officers arrived at the Motel 6, where Johnson claimed to live, they found Page blocking her exit from a room, police said.
Page claimed he was merely in the motel room having drinks and wanted his money—about $4,000—back, police said. Johnson reportedly countered that she was an escort with a Craigslist advertisement and everything, and that Page had spent about three or four hours with her in the motel room.
While officers were sorting things out, they determined Johnson had $3,900 of Page's cash as well as two chips from Harah's Casino worth $1,000 each.
Page posted a $200 cash bond for his release. Johnson was freed on her own recognizance.
