Spa Laser Left Woman's Face With 'Severe Burns': Lawsuit

A woman is suing a Shorewood spa and a doctor for allegedly disfiguring her face with a laser.

A Shorewood spa laser treatment left a woman with "severe burns" that disfigured her face, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.

The woman, Marci Quinn, is suing Dr. Keith Lim and Shorewood's Southwest Aesthetics and Body Sculpture, which her lawsuit says does business as Eterna Med Spa & Laser Vein Center.

The lawsuit said Quinn was "persuaded" to undergo a "series of laser light skin treatments" to remove "spotty discolorations" from her face.

During her second treatment, in September 2011, Quinn "felt pain and smelled her skin burning," the suit said, and that evening, her "face began to swell and blister."

Quinn claims she was "injured with great pain, suffering and disfigurement from severe burns over the entirety of her face and head," the lawsuit said.
