Warrant Issued for Joliet Man Wanted in Bolingbrook Shooting

Another Joliet suspect has been arrested for the early Saturday morning incident in which two men were shot, Bolingbrook police said.

One Joliet man has been charged and a warrant issued for a second stemming from a weekend shooting in Bolingbrook and high-speed police chase that ended in unincorporated Joliet, Bolingbrook police said.

Martez Doss, 21, of 9 Girard, Joliet, has been charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated battery to a police officer, aggravated assault to a police officer, obstructing and criminal damage to state-supported property in connection with the early Saturday morning incident, Bolingbrook Lt. Mike Rompa said.

After being processed at the Bolingbrook Police Department, Doss was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet.

The second suspect—Dominque D. Travis, 20, of Joliet—remains at large. Travis is facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count each of aggravated battery with a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, obstructing and reckless discharge of a firearm, Rompa said.

"The preliminary information revealed there was a party at a residence on the 100 block of Malibu and an argument ensued," Rompa said. "A physical altercation erupted and shots were fired. Officers arrived and observed an SUV fleeing the scene."

Two men from Bolingbrook were shot—ages 20 and 21—one in the chest and one in the leg. Both were transported to nearby hospitals with what Rompa described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Bolingbrook police chased the fleeing suspects around Lake Shore Drive, Briarcliff Road and onto I-55, but not before the suspects intentionally rammed into a squad car on the streets of Bolingbrook. Initial reports indicated three suspects were apprehended after officers caught up with the alleged offenders on foot in unincorporated Joliet, but Rompa said charges have been filed against only two men at this time.
