A traffic collision on westbound Interstate-80—west of I-55—was reported as a rollerover semi in a police dispatch at 6:12 p.m. on Monday.

Sgt. Jim Powell of the Illinois State Police's District 5 headquarters confirmed a single vehicle was involved in the mishap—a semi. He said the accident was due to high winds that kicked up along with the arrival of heavy rains.

Powell said there were no injuries in the accident. At 6:45 p.m., he said all lanes on I-80 would re-open to traffic soon, but he did not have an exact timetable because crews were still on the scene working to remove debris from the accident.
