An Oak Forest man who choked and threatened a male friend with scissors in order get him to give him $800 was arrested Wednesday, Joliet police said.
Joseph L. Milashoski, 23, of 10059 Le Claire Ave., was charged with aggravated domestic battery and felony theft in connection with the attack, which took place at about 5 p.m. Monday in the victim's Joliet home in the 100 block of South Hammes Avenue, Cmdr. Rich Demick said.
The victim told police he had a sexual relationship with Milashoski, and that the suspect stayed at his home on an on-and-off basis, Demick said.
Milashoski reportedly knew the victim kept money in a small safe in the house, according to the victim's account, and he demanded the victim give him $800, Demick said. When the victim initially refused, Milashoski reportedly choked the man and then threatened him with a pair of scissors until he complied, Demick said.
When interviewed by police, Milashoski denied he stole the money or that he had any kind of romantic relationship with the victim, he said.
Milashoski was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at a court hearing. He is being held in the Will County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond, according to jail records.
