Rocky Night at the Red Roof Inn

Romeoville woman arrested for breaking a window with a rock at the Joliet motel on McDonough Street, police said.

A woman hurling rocks at a man put one through a window when her target took refuge in the McDonough Street motel, said.

Carol Bagwell, 19, of 632 Belmont Drive, landed in in connection with the 3 a.m. Wednesday incident.

Police say Bagwell threw stones at a 22-year-old man outside the motel. He ran for cover by ducking into the Red Roof Inn and one of Bagwell's rocks reportedly went through a window.

Police were unsure what prompted Bagwell to fire rocks at the young man, but officers reportedly discovered he had a 20-year-old woman and 2-year-old child stashed in a motel room, and speculate that woman and child may have had something to do with Bagwell's alleged attack.

Bagwell reportedly wasn't done scrapping after the man made it into the motel. When officers arrived, she kicked one of them and then struggled as they tried to restrain her, police said.

Once the officers had Bagwell inside a squad car, police said, she managed to kick out a back window.

Bagwell was booked into the Will County jail. She faces charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, criminal damage to state supported property, knowingly damaging property and battery.
