Police ID Teen Found Wandering in Chicago [UPDATE]

The youth told police he's from the Joliet/Plainfield area.

Chicago Police Area North Special Victims Unit on Tuesday said they have identified a young teen found wandering the city near Halsted and Roscoe.

Police said the teen claimed he'd been wandering Chicago for about two months, and gave investigators several different names, including Shavon Davis.

Police did not provide any further details, except to say detectives were working to get him back with his family.

Chicago police are looking for the family of a minor who says he's been wandering the city for two months.

The boy, who told police he's from the Joliet/Plainfield area, was found near North Halsted Street and West Roscoe, police said.

The 14-year-old identified himself as Shavon Davis, and is described as a 5-foot-2, 203-pound black male with brown eyes, black hair and a medium complexion, according to police.

Police said the youth gave different several names for himself and his mother. 

The teen told police he has been wandering in Chicago "for about two months after having been displaced on 111th Street."

Anyone who can ID the teen is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8200 and ask for the Special Victims Unit.
