Police Raid Nets Gun, Drugs, 2 Teen Arrests

Police said they found a .22-caliber revolver, ammunition and about 10 grams of pot at the 2909 Boone Court home.

Two Joliet teens were arrested Thursday morning after police raided the house where they were at and confiscated cannabis and a gun, Joliet Police Cmdr. Les O'Connor said.

The pair, ages 15 and 16, were identified as gang members and charged with possession of a firearm by a street gang member following the execution of a search warrant at about 8 a.m. at the 2909 Boone Court house, O'Connor said.

They were also charged with unlawful use of a gun, possession of a gun without an FOID card and possession of ammunition without an FOID card in connection with the .22-caliber revolver police recovered from the scene, he said.

In addition, the 16-year-old was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and possession of drug equipment. O'Connor said they found about 10 grams of marijuana in the house, which is near Essington and Renwick roads.

Both are being held in the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center in Joliet.
