Part of Teen's Bond in Child Porn Case to Pay For Sex Offender Test

Part of a Naperville teen's bond for a child pornography charge is going to pay for a sex offender evaluation.

A Naperville teen charged with possessing child pornography had his bond reduced so some of the money can be used to pay for a sex offender evaluation.

The $100,000 bond for 18-year-old Christopher Colon was dropped to $92,000 by Judge Edward Burmila during a brief court hearing Thursday morning.

Colon only had to pay $10,000 cash of the $100,000 for his release. His attorney will be sent $800 by the county and it will be used for the evaluation.

Colon posted the $10,000 two days after he was taken into custody and locked up at the Will County jail in July 2011.

Colon was 17 at the time of his arrest. The Naperville police collared him at his Cedar Glade Drive home.

Police also seized computer equipment during their investigation, according to court papers.

Police determined that Colon had two illicit videos and one photograph stored on a computer, police said. The videos and the photograph depicted girls younger than 13 engaged in sex acts. The names the computer files were stored under made clear that the videos and photograph were of underage girls, according to the criminal complaint against Colon.

Police also seized computer equipment during their investigation, according to court papers.

Colon faces up to seven years in prison.

A report of his sex offender evaluation was scheduled to be presented in court Dec. 20.
