Daddies' Little Girls: One Dad Threatened to Call the Cops, the Other Did

The father of one young woman was in the house while she and her friends were involved in murdering two men, police said, and the father of the other was asked to help with the bodies.

Alisa Massaro’s father, Phillip Massaro, was asleep on a couch in the Hickory Street house while two young men were strangled to death a floor above him, according to a Joliet Police report.

Bethany McKee reportedly told officers she had left her friends and gone downstairs, where she saw Massaro's dad wake and ask, “What’s going on?”

McKee “told him a TV broke upstairs and nothing’s going on and Phillip said, quit the racket or he’ll go up there and call the police,” a police report states.

Phillip Massaro never did call the cops, but McKee’s father, William McKee, did after his daughter phoned him and asked for help getting rid of the bodies, a report states.

William McKee alerted the Shorewood police to the slayings, and his tip reportedly led officers to the grisly scene in the Hickory Street house.

After arriving, finding the bodies of Eric Glover and Terrance Rankins, and encountering Joshua Miner, the police made another trip to the basement and this time spotted a young man hiding beneath two “large white panels propped against the far wall” of an old cistern, a police report states.

He was “crouching on the floor, on his knees, facing the wall, with the panels pulled over him.”

Officers ordered the man to come out with his hands up, but he refused, a report states. He kept “his hands under his torso and turned and smiled at me,” an officer wrote.

After a while, Adam Landerman came out. Landerman happens to be the son of Joliet Police Sgt. Julie Larson. Landerman was reportedly carrying a folding knife in his pocket and told officers he hid in the basement because he had been drinking and is only 19 years old.

Massaro, Miner and Landerman were taken from the house to the Joliet Police Department for questioning. McKee was later captured in Kankakee. She was pulled over with her baby daughter in the car. McKee was on her way to see the child’s father, who lives in that town. McKee was questioned at the Kankakee Police Department and again in Joliet.
