Ohio Duo Charged in Huge Heroin Bust

A small driving area drew police attention to the two Cleveland men, who acted nervous and couldn't name the grandfather they were supposedly in town to visit.

made what's being described as the largest heroin seizure in city history thanks to an out-of-town driver's failure to use his turn signal.

Lamar D. Egler, 33, and Lewis D. Hall, 38, both of Cleveland, were arrested shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday near Maple and Gougar roads after police officers observed the driver's nervous behavior and the passenger said they were in town to visit a sick grandfather he could not name, according to a story in the Joliet Herald-News.

A narcotics-sniffing dog was brought to the scene, and detected drugs in the trunk, the story said. Police recovered 5.5 kilos of heroin with a street value of more than $500,000, the story said.

Both are being held in the in lieu of $500,000 bond.
