Men Caught with Heroin in Burger King Bathroom: Police

Kevin Thompson of Plainfield and Robert Lenning of Joliet face drug charges. Thompson is also accused of battering an officer.

Two men face drug charges after being caught with heroin in a Burger King bathroom in Bolingbrook on Monday, police said.

Lt. Mike Rompa said Bolingbrook's Problem-Oriented Policing Unit responded to a report of subjects with drugs in the restroom at Burger King, 331 S. Bolingbrook Dr., at around 7:50 p.m. Monday.

Officers arrived to find Robert Lenning, 44, of the 300 block of east Washington Street in Joliet, and 25-year-old Kevin J. Thompson of the 16000 block of south Legion Court in Plainfield, with "a quantity of heroin on their person," Rompa said.

When officers attempted to take the men into custody, Thompson allegedly resisted arrest and fought with police, Rompa said. Both men were eventually arrested and transported to the Will County jail.

Lenning is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment.

Thompson is charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting an officer, possession of cannabis and aggravated battery to a police officer, Rompa said.

Thompson also had an outstanding arrest warrant from Cook County, according to jail records.

Bond for both men is set at $20,000.
