Matteson Man in Custody for Joliet Murder

Police arrested Reuben Washington Thursday afternoon for the shooting death of Antonio Tyler, who was killed in what officials are calling a dispute over money.

The Matteson man wanted for a murder committed last weekend is in Joliet police custody.

Rueben W. Washington, 32, was arrested in a home in the area of Hunter Avenue and Marion Street at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a story in the Joliet Herald News. He's accused of killing Antonio P. Tyler, 31, of Joliet on March 31 in at house at 110 N. Nicholson in what police are describing as a dispute over money.

“He surrendered without incident, but he did have two bags containing 17 grams of crack with him,” Police Chief Mike Trafton told the paper.
