Man Made Threats with a Gun When Not Allowed to See His Children, Police Say

A second man was arrested for firing a gun into the air during the same incident, Joliet Lt. Robert Desiderio said.

A man who pulled out a gun when demanding to see his children at the Joliet home of his ex-girlfriend was arrested Sunday night, Joliet police said.

Khalid M. Hasan, 30, 1340 Pioneer Road, Crest Hill, went to the 506 W. Bellarmine Drive house of his former girlfriend at about 6 p.m. and was met at the door by the woman's current boyfriend, who refused to allow him to see the children, Joliet Lt. Robert Desiderio said.

The argument escalated, prompting Hasan to produce a handgun and point it at the victim, Desiderio said. Simultaneously, one of Hasan's four friends, who were waiting for him inside a van, jumped out and started firing his gun in the air, he said.

Hasan and his friends then fled the scene, and police arrested him and James L. Davis at Hasan's residence. No guns were recovered, but police did find ammunition, Desiderio said.

Hasan was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated discharge of a firearm and no firearm owner's identification card. Davis, 21, 425 Pryor, Joliet, was booked on a count of reckless discharge of a firearm and on a parole violation.

Hasan was released from Will County jail on $30,000 bond, but Davis remains held on $50,000 bond.

Both men have previous criminal records, according to jail records. Hasan was last arrestd in 2011 on charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving with a revoked license stemming from a previous DUI charge.

Davis' criminal record includes arrests in 2011 for aggravated battery of a police officer and aggravated domestic violence, in 2010 for possession of a stolen firearm, and in 2009 for possession of a stolen firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

Maybe some new manhole lids with rubber rings to stop all the flooding of peoples houses,AndRead More actually climb down in the manhole and see if it is leaking instead of paying all of these people in Joliet getting flooded out by YOUR SANITARY System. Some paint being scrapped off the City Hall Hand Rails that will cut ya up.
