Man Shot in Thigh Sunday Afternoon, Police Say
The victim, who was treated for his injury at Silver Cross Hospital, is described as "uncooperative," Joliet police said.
A 17-year-old man standing outside a store in the 1000 block of Woodruff was shot in the thigh Sunday afternoon, Joliet police said.
The victim told officers he heard about four or five shots and then felt pain in his leg, Cmdr. Rich Demick said. The incident occurred at about 3:20 p.m.
The victim, described as "uncooperative," did not give police many details about the attack, such as what area the shots were fired from or whether his assailants were on foot or in a car, Demick said. It's not known if the shooting was gang-related, he said.
