Man Sexually Assaulted 4-Year-Old Girl, Police Say

Joliet police have charged Angel Oceguera, 50, with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and aggravated criminal sexual assault.

A man who allegedly raped a 4-year-old girl was arrested Thursday by Joliet police.

Angel Oceguera, 50, of Chicago, was taken into custody at the Joliet Police Department at about 3:50 p.m. after investigators interviewed him about an incident that occurred in December 2011, Joliet Lt. Brian Dupuis said.

The victim's mother, an acquaintance of Oceguera, brought the case to police on Nov. 11 after being told about it by her daughter, who's now 6, Dupuis said. The child was brought in for a victim-sensitive interview, and based on the information gathered there, Oceguera was brought in for questioning, he said.

At this point, police believe the sexual attack was a one-time occurrence, Dupuis said.

Oceguera has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and aggravated criminal sexual assault. He is being held in the Will County jail pending a bond hearing.
