A Joliet man who allegedly had sex with two underage girls has been arrested on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Derek Walsh, 30, of 931 N. Broadway St., was arrested at the Will County Courthouse in Joliet Tuesday following his appearance at an unrelated hearing for theft charges, Joliet Police Detective Jeff German said.

Investigators began looking into Walsh after receiving two unrelated reports from parents alleging he had had sexual contact with their daughters in April, German said. Based on interviews with the victims and their families and discussions with the Will County State's Attorney's Office, two warrants for Walsh's arrest were issued Monday, he said.

German would not provide more details on either case, declining to say how old the girls are, if they knew each other or how Walsh met them.

In addition to four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, Walsh was also charged with four counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

He was arrested in February by the Rockdale Police Department on two counts of felony theft. That case is pending.

John Roberts you sound like a fool, and try and use information completely unrelated as an argument. You made a statement that a 17 year old would know better...and that's probably true....but that still doesn't change the fact that the 30 year old was the adult. You're a pig, honestly.

If we all strove through prayer and Bible study to have a understanding and relationship with the Lord and treated others the way God wanted, see Exodus 20 The Ten Commandments, in this instance Exodus 20:14 ( no sex with someone you are not married to) we would not have these problems of "adults having sex with underage kids" and there would not be these arguments on line. And for the record I see merits in everyone's comment. And yes there is sin in human beings and we will never have a human race that totally Loves The Lord hands down and therefore their fellow man. We will always have selfish people in this world who want to use and abuse others. Sexually and in many other ways. But we can individually choose to study God's word the Bible, pray to God and ask Him to make us like Him so we don't abuse others. God be with you all while you strive to treat others fairly and keep your families safe.

Arrest and booking photos are provided by law enforcement officials. Arrest does not imply guilt, and criminal charges are merely accusations. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty and convicted. Just wanted to put this out there, because most of the folks commenting is getting all their law information from Law & Order... no bueno. I know you are innocent Walsh. Keep your head up.
