Man Dragged Down Stairs of Joliet Apartment & Beaten With Own Belt

A sleeping man was roughly treated at a Joliet party.

Joliet partygoers grabbed a sleeping man, dragged him down the outside stairs of an apartment house, beat him with his own belt and left him injured in a snowbank, police said.

The beaten man told police he fell asleep at a party on Ruby Street early Saturday morning and woke to three men grabbing him and dragging him down the back stairs.

Once they got the him down, the man's three assailants proceeded to beat and kick him, police said. They then stole his Samsung phone, his Chicago Bulls hat and his black leather belt. The man's attackers took things to the next level of bad when they decided to beat him with his own belt.

The man was left crumpled in a snowbank but eventually made his way to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. He reported the attack to the police after leaving the hospital.
