Man Charged With Hickory Street Nightmare Murders Doesn't Want His Words Used Against Him

One of the alleged Nightmare on Hickory Street killers wants his words kept out of the case.

When the cops found two young men dead in a house on Joliet's North Hickory Street last year, they ran into Joshua Miner who told them, "I did the guy with the dreadlocks,” according to police reports obtained exclusively by Patch.

Those same reports told how Miner, 25, remembered his teenage girlfriend confiding “years back that she wanted to have sex with a dead guy,” and that gave him the idea to copulate with her on the corpses of the two men.

Miner faces murder charges in connection with the January 2013 strangulation deaths of Terrance Rankins and Eric Glover, both 22. His attorney, Lea Norbut, filed court papers Friday to suppress the statements Miner made to police.

The court papers were not on file in the Will County Circuit Clerk's Office following the Friday hearing and Judge Gerald Kinney has put a gag order on the case.

Along with Miner, three of his friends were arrested after the police found the bodies of Rankins and Glover. Adam Landerman, 20, Bethany McKee, 19, and the woman who had sex with Miner on the bodies—20-year-old Alisa Massaro—all were jailed in the wake of the killings.

Massaro slipped the murder rap Thursday when she pleaded guilty to charges of robbery and concealing homicides. She should be released from prison in less than four years.

Massaro has agreed to testify against the other three.

Prosecutors succeeded in splitting up the murder cases of the three remaining defendants. Assistant State's Attorney John Connor said Friday that they are going after Miner first.
