Man, 86, Found Frozen in Yard Sunday Morning

Officials say they do not know whether an illness caused Raymond Adamic to fall outside his home, where he was found Sunday morning.

An 86-year-old man was found frozen in the rear yard of his home Sunday morning after having apparently fallen there day before, Joliet police said.

The body of Raymond Adamic, uncle of Will County Board District 9 member Walter Adamic, was discovered at about 6 a.m. in the back yard of 1129 Highland Ave., Cmdr. Al Roechner said.

Adamic had several medical problems, and Roechner said it's not clear whether one of those caused him to fall or if he slipped on snow or ice. The Will County Coroner's Office told police that Adamic's death was from natural causes.

According to the National Weather Service, the overnight low on Saturday was about 16 degrees.
