Joliet Woman Bites Cop's Arm After Making Run For It In Handcuffs: Police

The woman only made it about a half block before she was recaptured, but she wasn't giving up yet, police said.

A handcuffed Joliet woman ran from the cops and bit one in the arm after she was recaptured, police said.

Paris Guthrie, 24, of 402 Elmwood St. was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and escape in connection with her ill-fated Sunday evening dash for freedom.

Guthrie had been picked up on a couple county warrants and taken to the Joliet Police station. As an officer was leading her to a squad car to drive her the five or so blocks to the Will County jail, Guthrie made a break for it, police said.

The handcuffed Guthrie only made it about a half block, police said, but after she was recaptured she allegedly bit a police sergeant in the arm as he was attempting to clap her into leg irons.

Guthrie remains in custody at the county jail. She is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.
