Joliet Police Looking for Green Car After Drive-By Shooting

A 15-year-old was wounded Sunday near Third Avenue and Sherman.

Joliet police are looking for a vehicle that was reportedly involved in a drive-by shooting Sunday near Third Avenue and Sherman Street.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the upper right thigh in the incident, which happened at around 5 p.m. Sunday, Capt. Tab Jensen told Patch. 

The teen was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center before being transferred to Loyola, according to WJOL. His injuries are reportedly not life threatening.

Police are looking for a vehicle involved in the shooting, described as a green, older-model, four-door Cadillac with a tan top. The shooter was reportedly sitting in the front passenger seat.

The shooting happened after gang signs were flashed while about 50 youths were gathered in the area, according to WJOL.
