Joliet Man who Shot Son Saw Vampires, Report Says

Roderick Tademy is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery; his son is unable to walk, talk or breath on his own, a Sun-Times report says.

A Joliet man, on trial for allegedly shooting his 12-year-old son in the head, thought he saw vampires and suffered from other delusions, the child’s mother testified this week.

Roderick Tademy, 37, is being tried in Will County court on attempted murder and aggravated battery charges stemming from his shooting of the boy in the family’s living room Dec. 20, 2010, a Thursday story in the Chicago Sun-Times said.

Victim Obedyah Tademy is in a long-term care facility, unable to breath, walk or talk on his own, the report said.
