Joliet Man Stuck, Killed by Freight Train Monday

The victim has been identified by the Will County Coroner's Office as Kirk Adams, but no other details were available Monday night.

A Joliet man was killed Monday afternoon after being struck by a freight train, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

The accident occurred at about 3:25 p.m. near the intersection of Rowell Avenue and Manhattan Road in Joliet Township, a coroner's office statement said. The victim was identified as Kirk D. Adams, but no information on his age, address or the circumstances of the incident were available.

An autopsy will be conducted Tuesday; the investigation is being handled by the Will County Sheriff's Office and Canadian National Railway police.
