Joliet Man Dies in Homeless Camp Tent Fire, Coroner Says

Frank Gubernat was pronounced dead shortly after noon Sunday; an autopsy will be conducted Monday.

A homeless Joliet man died Sunday after the tent he was sleeping in caught fire, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.

The victim has been identified as Frank J. Gubernat, 51, who was declared dead at 12:11 p.m. Sunday, the office said in a news release.

An autopsy will be conducted Monday to determine Gubernat's cause of death, the release said. The location of the homeless camp was not disclosed.

The Will County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
